Getting a Healthy Skin!

No make up can make you look beautiful naturally unless you have a beautiful and healthy skin. The break outs, uneven skin tone, dark pigmentation and scars just make you look dull and could kill the look of any wonderful outfit you wear! All women try different products, spend thousands of dollars on skin treatment, to get the beautiful skin. Its very easy to take care of your skin using home remedies. Here are our favorite skin remedies which are easy to try , which come from ancient vedic culture!

Homemade Mask for Oily Skin:

Mix 2 teaspoons of Fuller's earth with 2 teaspoons of chilled rose-water to make a thick paste. Apply on your face with a brush, avoiding the delicate areas around the eyes. Leave it on for about 20 minutes or till completely dry. Rinse with warm water. The result is a clear pinkish youthful skin - all the excess grease and dead cells have been cleared away. The treatment should be used for oily skins once a week but if your skin is really very oily then you can apply it even twice a week.

For Glowing Skin(All Skin Types)

Mix 1 cup of chickpea flour, 3 tablespoon of turmeric powder and almond oil into a bowl to make a paste. Apply all over the face and the body, and then let set for a few minutes. You may leave it on longer if you please. The remove by rubbing off the paste with your hands. The rubbing will help to exfoliate - it actually helps to remove baby (fine) facial hair. Then wash off the rest of the paste.

For Acne Treatment(Oily Skin)

Core 1 apple, leave the skin on and cut it in pieces. Puree the apple parts in a food processor. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and half teaspoon of sage and mix it well until you have a smooth and uniform paste. After keeping it 20 minutes in the fridge, apply on your neck and face, keeping it away from your  eyes. Leave the mask for 30 minutes.

Then wash it off with cold fresh water; pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Sun Tanning(For Dry Skin)

Peel and cut the 1/4 cucumber into pieces, put it in a blender and puree it. Mash the 1/4 avocado and add the cucumber puree, 1 table spoon of the aloe vera gel and 1 teaspoon of the green tea. Mix it until you have a nice and smooth paste. Apply it on face for 20 minutes then wash it.

PS.
However, to be on the safe side you must always apply the home made face packs on the wrist before using on your face and must always check the expiry date of the ingredients before using them.

The silk and satin fall beautifully on all body types. Undoubtedly, these dresses are meant for colorful wedding. We have added our favorites from various stores and designers on the slideshow.

Engagement

For engagement, people mostly prefer something that is fusion of  Victorian style with Indian persona. A lehnga skirt, perfectly embroided, colorful,  choli (blouse) with a modern twist, perfect way to take the first step with your man. Corset style cholis with Victorian silhouettes will make you look different from the crowd and just like a princess.  Slides 1 to 5 show the perfect dresses for engagement.

Desi Celebs in Various Events....

Here are a few celebrities from various public appearances which we thought were worth noting...

Swiss Calender Launch

Drashta Sarvaiya

Lisa Hayden

Synergy One

Madhuri Dixit at Varul Bahal...She looked fabulous....One of my friend happens to be her neighbor, who tells she looks so gorgeous all the time!

French Award Ceremony

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was invited to the ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters Award’ of France was organized by the French Embassy. But the Bachchans requested the ceremony be postponed due to the recent blasts in Mumbai. I think her saree is very graceful, but it did not work for me....

First Look Launch of ‘Mausam’

The first look of the upcoming movie Pankaj Kapur’s ‘Mausam’ was unveiled at PVR in Mumbai.Sonam looked pretty in her Emanuel Ungaro outfit with silver strappy flats and a hair band gave a classic  50's chic look. As usual, she is a vintage lover but sometimes she should pick other styles as well...we saw her in two back to back events in vintage look only....Don't you get bored Miss Kapoor?? We are...
‘Taj Express’ Premiere

Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant premiered her new musical ‘Taj Express’ at NCPA, Mumbai.
Sonam Kapoor came in again in a vintage ‘Katherine Hepburn’ inspired trouser look, this was second back to back appearance of 1950′s looks. The outfit was from ‘The Row’, the clutch from Prada and the jewellery was of her Mom's.
Anushka Sharma also did flare pants but the lace cami did not work well with the outfit. She looks lovely but Sonam does it better.
I did not like Shobha's outfit....very old. I think she rocks better in her signature sareees.
For me Shraddha Kapoor was runner up after Sonam, her outfit paired with black leggings did worked well for us.

Shweta Pandit looked really chic in florals and her clutch was pretty, what did not work for me was her jewelry...
Madhuri Dixit at a Wedding

Madhuri Dixit was seen at a wedding in Mumbai wearing a golden net saree with heavy detail work on the blouse looking like a million bucks. This lady never looses her charm...
‘ZNMD’ Screening

‘Zindagi na Milegi Dobara’ had a screening at PVR, Mumbai for the fans and the cast of the movie was in full attendance for this event. I loved Katrina's LBd but Kalki's style was great as well, but it looked something was missing, may she should have been wearing lace booties instead of loafers.

‘I am She’ Finale

‘I am She’ Finale was held in Mumbai where one got to see a number of celebrities attend this event. The  gorgeous Sushmita Sen was the host for the evening and looked every bit beautiful in her blue outfit. The winners Vasuki Sunkavalli crowned as Miss Universe India, Parul Duggal Miss Globe International and Tanvi Singla as Miss Asia Pacific World. For the finale outfit, we thought it was very pretty....

Frieda Pinto going for Vogue photoshoot

I like her casual look a lot...thats so chic.

Sonali Bendre at the launch of India's Got Talent

We loved her dress, the ruched does work in hiding the flaws of her body and the color looks good on her!!

                                                     Manyata Dutt's Birthday Party

Gown looks pretty, but that necklace...ugghh...we suggest getting rid of that...

Sophie looks pretty, right combination of pink with gold...her clutch also works well...
if I miss something, its some piece of jewelry...

Zarine looks ravishing without make up and in her simple look...

At Manyata Dutt's birthday party, the only looks worth noting were these four..
