I recently happened to see the fall 2011 collection of the Comme des Garcons, the dresses with lots of color and mixed prints in the form of multicolored silk head-scarves, first as a sleeve detail, and then bunched and draped across the body to make dresses, tops, and skirts. The choice of patterns, running from classic paisleys to baroque, sixties florals and souvenir prints was beautifully done, the originality of the workmanship was stunning, and often in a completely wearable way. That’s why adherents of the Comme way of thinking will be wanting to get their hands on these pieces as soon as they can. Here is are my favorites from the collection.
